House of Egorn

b. 1975, Caracas, Venezuela; lives and works in London.

Pizzani is a multimedia artist who works with the connection between the body and self-identity with ecology, landscape, and political realities. The periphery and delineation of the human body is not separate but rather inside a natural environment. The subjects in Pizzani's projects take on many forms such as Ophelia who transforms through water, a cocooned performer within a landscape, or the skin itself that relates to interior architecture; the definitions of self permeate and expand. Recent projects include political subjects related to current crises in Venezuela in relation to feminine identity and local mythology.
Pizzani studied an MA in fine arts at Central Saint Martins in London after receiving a degree in Biology from Venezuela and studying at Columbia University in New York. She has received prestigious awards such as the Premio Eugenio Mendoza, one of the most important prizes in Venezuela.
